AmeriZorb is a product of the USA. AmeriZorb consists primarily of specially processed peat moss. The peat moss varieties in this product are both sphagnum and sedge peat moss. AmeriZorb is produced in a specialized machine that dewaters raw peat. Moisture levels determine the efficiency of peat products. AmeriZorb is a scientific blended balance of product and moisture content.

What is AmeriZorb?

This product is made of peat moss fiber that has been processed in a unique way. Unlike other peat moss products, AmeriZorb takes little effort to contact and soak up petroleum or chemical contaminates. Some peat moss products are dusty and dirty. We have reduced the dust level and provided a product that doesn't soil hands and clothes.

AmeriZorb captures and holds contaminates for easier clean up. Peat moss is typically porous in nature. Some types of peat moss are more porous than others. AmeriZorb is particularly porous and well suited for the clean up project at hand.

Peat moss soaks up hydrocarbons, PCBs, solvents and most chemicals. Some harsh chemicals might need to be neutralized before clean up. Peat moss fiber securely locks the contaminate in and will not release it. AmeriZorb can remain in the rain, be driven over or neglected and it will still hold the contaminate.

Some absorbents allow products to attach themselves to the outside of the cell. These products are short term cleaners and if left could require secondary cleanup. Generally this type of product requires more volume usage and immediate clean up, with increased man power demand. Some of these products are good for dry land use only.

AmeriZorb loose fiber products are made to be used primarily on dry land. Floatation AmeriSocks and AmeriPillows are designed for use on water spill scenes.

Gasoline spills create their own set of problems. AmeriZorb placed over spilled or leaking gasoline reduces or eliminates the chance of ignition. When AmeriZorb is thrown over burning gasoline it extinguishes the fire. Some very dry products can actually cause more fire problems. AmeriZorb helps cure them.

One of the problems with some absorbents is the floating tendency. Competitor products when applied in down pour or extreme wet conditions, float away and unless forced contact is made prove inadequate in quickly absorbing the contaminate. This creates further contamination threats when the absorbent separates from the spilled product before securing it. (Forced contact is sweeping, shoveling, mixing or agitating the absorbent to force penetration into the contaminate so absorption can occur.)

AmeriZorb will settle over the spill and slow the progress of run off. This allows adequate time for contaminate absorption.

Another common complaint in dry product handling is the dust and grime factor. To handle some of the powder type absorbents you need to not wear good clothes and one might be inclined to wear a mask.

AmeriZorb is a product that is clean and very low in dust emission. It is environmentally friendly, quickly soaking up oils, antifreeze, and other contaminate type materials.

Artificial absorbents contain man made material or altered compounds. These products can pose health risk, disposal limitations or further secondary clean up problems.

AmeriZorb is organic, non toxic and safe.

Weight of product becomes a factor when storing, hauling and handling. Peat moss products are light yet they do really heavy work!
